5 Things Successful People Do On Weekends

Breathe fam, you are at Gift Wogu’s place.

I promised to write more and since I am extra consistent on my YouTube channel, I decided to let it rub off on my blog. In this article, I am going to give you 5 things successful people do during the weekend.

Friday is everyone’s favourite day because it is the beginning of the weekend, for someone like me who has no weekend or holiday, it is not my favourite day, but for 99.9 other people in the world, it is. During the weekend, it is easy to waste your time doing nothing and before you can say, Jack, your alarm rings loudly and you have to get the hell out of bed. Trust me, I know how it feels, I have been there countless times. However, there are techniques that you can take to make your weekend productive and you can look forward to Monday with a heavy smile sitting on your face.

  • Rest: An individual can never get enough rest. I mean, adulting and adulting and chores just have a way of laughing at you and your plans. If you live in a major city like Lagos Nigeria with the noise, the trekking, the angry people and sometimes, the toxic work environment, it is easy for you to be exhausted. Once you are back from work or your business on Friday, take a bath, switch off your phone and get a good sleep. It will put you in a good mood to be productive and happy.

  • Make a list: I started following Erin on Demand recently and that chic is the real deal. She has the top three things she does on her channel where she writes her top important tasks for the day on her whiteboard. I am a list girl. I have daily lists and weekly lists. If you cannot keep up with my style, you can go with Erin’s style. Just make sure there is a list for your tasks during the weekend. Going back to that list when the weekend is almost over is a good way to evaluate how you have spent your weekend and even your time.

  • Plan for the week: What are your goals for the week? How do you want to nail your targets? Plan the strategies that you would want to use to achieve all those during the weekend. Look back and see how productive you were during the last week too. If you were not productive, you should find out ways to change your strategy. You can take one hour to do this.

  • Hangout with loved ones: When last did you spend quality time with your loved ones, you should not do this every weekend especially if it is clearly not possible, but you can try as much as you can to set aside most weekends to achieve this. If you have a lover, what better time to get some love (however you show it) if not during the weekend?

  • Do something fun: If hanging out with your loved one is clearly not fun for you; you can do something fun. Go to the movies or Netflix and chill at home, satisfy your cravings or visit a tourist site you have been longing to visit. Just do something fun, something that when you look back, you would find yourself smiling.

There is a famous saying that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. I really hope you shut down your computer this weekend and take your time to make your weekend as fun and as productive as you want. Cheers!

  1. I can't Lagos my Life!! I don't know how to. That Lagos worker expectation hit me hard. Everyone is just angry and rude for no reason. To hang out using the same roads on a weekend is a major turnoff.
Though, we've practically got no choice.

    1. How can I relate really well as regards Lagos? Going out in Lagos is a chore. I find other ways to be productive at home as I cannot come and kill myself abeg.

  2. Very succinct. Thank you for these tips. Lagos lifestyle has practically made me to hate going anywhere other than lie on my bed and press my phone. The traffic, the crowd of clinically insane people, the thick air won't let me go out. It's sad. There seem to be no life for many 9-5 employees other than just work.

    1. I am not very excited to go out in Lagos Nigeria so I can relate with what you are saying. You don't need to go out to be productive though. Thanks for reading.
