Kemi Adetiba's 'King of Boys' Is The Best Movie I've Seen This Year

Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow again; Kemi Adetiba mesmerized our souls positively with her movie King of Boys. This masterpiece has replaced Crazy Rich Asians it’s now 1 on my 2018 best movies list.

Hey blog readers, I want to do the normal hailing, but I can’t because I am overwhelmed with this movie and I honestly want to know how you guys are doing. How are you guys doing anyway? If you haven’t watched King of Boys, hurry to the cinema because the King has come.

I don’t know how she put together this amazing cast to make this movie great, but hands up for Kemi Adetiba. I want to talk about the Oba first, but Reminisce blew my mind. I mean, how else can one debut an acting career if not like Reminisce as Makanaki in this movie? The only way to switch careers is to switch like a boss.

What about Illbliss our own Ogaboss? I can’t picture anyone more suited for that role than him. Adesua Etomi slayed her role to perfection. I honestly became tired of her good girl Susu roles and I wanted something different Kemi served me that difference in a golden plate. The bad girl Susu nailed it.

The sexy Sharon Ooja came through with her manipulative skills all the way from Skinny Girl In Transit, Moms at War to King of Boys. How does someone who is interested in you want to pay your bills and you pay his bills and that of his friends. We definitely didn’t see that one coming.

We had other minor characters that did well like Funolar, the lawyer guy, Nedu Wazobia, Jide Kosoko and a host of others. I know I haven’t talked about Toni Tones and Sola Sobowale, but they deserve a complete paragraph dedicated to them.

The first time I watched Toni Tones on Bovi’s It’s Her Day, I knew she was good. I have watched a couple of movies she starred in and she’s an ACTOR. Toni is one of the best actors in Nollywood, but we just don’t know that yet. She played the young Eniola Salami and I fell in love with her character instantly because she read that script and brought her A game. You really don’t want to mess with the King.

Sola Sobowale! Mama o! I really couldn’t imagine another elderly Eniola Solano on that Oba’s chair. If e no be Oba, e no fit be Oba. Watching her, I could feel the passion and hard work she put into the character to make Eniola come to life. Eniola is that Jagaban you must appease before you think of getting anything with regards to politics. You can’t have a smooth operation without her support. Like, you no fit question this woman o. If you think I’m bluffing, ask Reminisce.

I watched the movie at Marturion Cinema and the hall was filled. The movie is over 2 hours long; you’d definitely want it to be longer. It’s money well spent and I particularly loved how Kemi infused Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa.

When I saw the hype beginning of this year, I knew it’s a must watch for me. I’m so proud of Kemi Adetiba, her movie is everything. Guys, this is the best movie I’ve seen this year and it’s the best action movie Nollywood has ever produced. It’s safe to say Nollywood is ready for serious action now.

Meanwhile, I’d love to see Reminisce in more movies; dude is good! If you have seen the movie, what did I miss out? If you haven’t ,help yourself. Have a beautiful week and don’t forget to share my link with your friends.
